Little Ones Portrait F.A.Q.

Q.What is the best time of day to bring my child in for a portrait?
A. If you have a younger child, two years old and younger, you will want to bring them in after they have been fed and had their nap. You know your child's temperament and schedule better then anyone else, so schedule the appointment when you feel your child is at his or her best.

Q.Can siblings be in the portraits?
A. Yes. For an additional fee for each additional child we will photograph siblings.

Q.What if my child cries through the whole session?
A.If you child is having a "bad day" we will reschedule the photo shoot for another day at no additional cost for the 1st reschedule. If the child requires more than two re-take sessions a discounted fee will be discussed. We make every effort to work with your child to make this a happy experience.

Q.My child has never been to a professional photographer. What if he is afraid and doesn't cooperate?
A. Like everyone, being in front of a stranger's camera can be a little scary, especially for a young child. We suggest talking to your child a day or two before they are scheduled to come in, and bring them to the studio a few minutes prior to the appointment so they can have a look around and get used to their new surroundings. Refer to the photographer and his helper in a positive manner and let them know they are going to have FUN!

Q.I want my child to be smiling in his pictures, is that expecting too much?
A. Absolutely not - but...you have to decide if you want forced unnatural smiles or their genuine perfect smiles that you know and love. We strongly urge the parents not to expect the child to smile but to let it happen naturally. We take a variety of poses and sometimes the "not smiling" pictures are the ones the parents love the best!

Q. Can I bring in special things or props of my own for the photo session?
A. We encourage it! Bring in those special things like the blanket grandma made, or that old teddy bear. These are the things that make your child's portrait unique to them.

Q.What should my child wear?
A. Go to our clothing tip page for helpful ideas.
