Traditional

Grays, blues, blacks, brown, greens, teals, and purples. Stay away from strips or prints. They take the attention away from your face.

Guys - Suits and ties; black, blues, or grays. If you will not be wearing a suit coat avoid the plain white shirt and go for a darker solid color.

Girls - Soft sweaters with classic jewerly; pearls, or gold and silver chains - keep it simple. The best colors again or the dark solid colors. Long to 3/4 length sleeves. Avoid sleeveless shirts - bare arms will cause the eye away from the face

Window Light

Cool -Whites, off whites, and pastels; soft blues, teals, purples, and greens. Choose the more feminine fabrics soft and airy.

Warm -Off whites, creamy colors; peach, light greens, yellows. Again soft and airy fabric.

Dark -Dark solid colors; red, purples, greens, blacks, and grays.

Brick wall -Solid colors; either pastels, or primary colors.

White/Hi-key

Pastels and primary colors. For a more dramtic look use all black or all white. The colors "pop" on these backgrounds. You can dress casually or more formal the white/hi-key background it is very versatile.

Casual

Blue jeans, khaki's, casual dress pants. Layer clothing for depth. Stay away from the dresses, dress shirts and ties.

Outdoors

Blue jeans, khaki's, shorts and sundress. White shirts with blue jeans are very popular and look great outdoors.

Your Stuff

Besides wearing your sports outfit bring in any and all things that go with the specific sport; bats, gloves, footballs, helmet, letterman jacket just to name a few things. Don't just limit it to sports but bring in the things that best describe who you are, books, purses, shoes, hats, paintings. Only your imagination will limit you!

Hair and Make-up. . . . .
If you are interested we do have a professional who does make-up and hair for your senior portraits. We would be happy to schedule an appointment for you at the time you book your senior sitting. Charges for this service will be handled through our make-up and hair person.

Girls
Hair -Wear your hair the way you normally wear your hair. Don't try something new and interesting that day! The chances of you not liking the "new" look for pictures can possibly be a problem. Bring in your hair clips to add to your hair. If you want to put your hair up you can certainly do so only if it doesn't require a lot of time in the dressing room.

Make-Up - Again we encourage you not to try anything different but to apply your make-up the way you normally do. Adding a little powder to your face in between session can eliminate any skin shine.

Guys
If you are planning a hair cut before your senior portraits do so at least a couple days prior. You don't want that fresh cut look.

Glasses - We strongly encourage those students that wear glasses to come to their sessions with the lens removed. Lens can cause distortion and become very distracting in your final portraits. We certainly can remove the glass glare but there will be a charge. You can go to your eye care professional and request that they remove your lenses or get a pair of just the frames for your sitting. We don't recommend "popping out" your lenses by yourself.

Braces -A lot of our students wear braces, some are fine with having their portraits taken with them while others don't want the braces in their portraits. We can certainly remove the braces from your portraits for a minimum charge. Call the studio for details.
